Beautiful Minds in Senior Elementary Schools is a program currently being developed to introduce senior elementary school students to the topics of mental health and stigma.

The initial part of developing the program was to complete 6 focus groups with grade 6, 7 and 8 students across Waterloo Region (3 public, 3 separate). The information collected from this group of 46 students is being used to help shape the program content and design.

The next phase of development is to collaborate with several organizations so that the program fits the needs of senior elementary school students and teachers. Since mental health is not in the curriculum at this level, it will be tied into other subject areas.

We are aiming to launch this new and exciting program soon!
